Frequently Asked Questions

An LCSW is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. They are a mental health professional who is trained to assess, diagnose, and treat emotional, behavioral, and relational concerns. LCSWs hold a master’s degree in social work, have completed extensive supervised clinical experience, and are licensed by the state in which they practice.

LCSWs provide evidence-based therapy for concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, life transitions, and burnout, and are qualified to work with individuals, couples, and families.

The first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. We’ll discuss your goals, concerns, and what you’re hoping to achieve through therapy. It’s also an opportunity for you to ask questions and decide if we’re a good fit.

Therapy can be beneficial for anyone looking to grow, heal, or make meaningful changes in their life. Whether you’re facing a specific issue or simply want to work on personal development, we’ll create a plan that meets your needs.

That’s okay! Starting therapy can feel like a big step. I offer an initial consultation to help you decide if this is the right path for you. There’s no pressure, we’ll work at your pace.

I offer virtual appointments to accommodate a wide range of client needs.

Individual, family, and career counseling sessions are typically 50 minutes. Group counseling sessions may run slightly longer, depending on the group’s needs.

Please contact me to inquire if I am in network with your insurance plan. I can offer you a superbill that you can submit to your insurance provider for possible reimbursement.

Therapy offers something a little different. Licensed therapists are trained to provide an objective, nonjudgmental space where we can explore your thoughts, feelings, and challenges. We're not here to give advice or share personal opinions. Instead, we use evidence-based techniques to help you uncover patterns, process emotions, and develop tools to navigate life’s challenges.

Medication can help manage symptoms, but it doesn’t address the underlying thoughts, emotions, and behaviors contributing to your challenges. For some, a combination of therapy and medication works best, but many people find therapy alone to be enough. If you’re considering medication, I can help guide you toward additional resources.
